Medicaid Unwinding Update: Redeterminations Continue; Dashboard Available

The first of what is expected to be at least 220,000 Ohioans have had their coverage terminated as the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) continues to move forward with resuming normal Medicaid operations, including redetermining eligibility for the first time since March 2020.

ODM has released a new resource dashboard on the process of eligibility redetermination. The data on the dashboard go to the county level. However, please note that there is a lag in the information listed. It is expected that this website will have ongoing updates. We also strongly recommend watching the tutorial video on the dashboard website. This tutorial is very helpful to explain the data on the site.

CHN continues to work closely with partners in Ohio to help you understand the process, timeline and statewide impact. As a reminder, please take a look at this timeline and projected enrollment change from ODM. There is additional information, including materials for patients, as well as from ODM, on the state’s COVID unwinding site.

To most effectively advocate and update key stakeholders, we need to hear from you as the process rolls out in Ohio. If you have any information on the impact of Medicaid unwinding on your site, please email Jason at jkoma@charitablehealth.org. Please send anything relevant as this information from the field is vital to our ability to support you at the state level.
